SRQ announced that Pilatus Aircraft broke ground on a flagship U.S. facility at the airport. Airport leadership described the project as the first step toward bringing Pilatus’s first aircraft manufacturing operation outside Switzerland to Sarasota.
Elixir Aircraft is building its own Sarasota presence. The French manufacturer has described plans for a local reassembly and delivery facility, and we have placed a firm order for ten Elixir aircraft as part of our fleet-renewal strategy, now integrating them into our operation.
Together, these developments widen SRQ’s role. Aircraft can arrive here, receive local support, and eventually become part of the training and general aviation activity already based at the airport.
